Ah! busy bees!

Ah! busy bees!

Today was quite a busy day! I was whistling like a busy bumble bee flying back and forth from the gardens to my beehive! I almost traveled all-around the city on my bike with lots of to-do-tasks. The city today was surprisingly beautiful. Otherwise everyday I would end up with exhaustion and the suffocation by the virtue of city’s ever growing developmental activities in the unimaginably heavy traffic. But today was something different, it was beautiful! I passed by Lalbagh which is one of the city’s main tourist attraction centers where exotic green life exists till date! It was stunning! I could almost find all colors of flowers on mother nature’s color palette. Inspite of the city’s concentric expansion the garden city still stands true to its title! It was exhilarating! I wished I had my camera with me at that time to catch the beauty of Bangalore city through my camera lenses!

I love riding my bike and traveling. I love to know about new things, places, way of life and almost everything that is alien to me. I am like a curious cat. I like to pry, probe and comprehend on a vast multitude of subjects.Today as I wandered about the city I realized many things which I was oblivious/ignorant to till date.I observed the traffic patterns, tried to figure out the logic behind labeling an access road as one-way/two-way, the lane system, traffic signal co-ordination at some important junctions etc,. I have no idea how much I have succeeded in trailing out the logic. I will try to find out from the authentic and experienced sources and will let you know in my future posts.

I wondered with a great deal of astonishment about how the urban planners/who-ever is responsible for planning such things carry out and bring forth the innovative solutions without causing much harm to the existing city’s infrastructure to ease out the bottle-necks formed at the junctions due to the heavy traffic at the peak hours. We have copied almost everything from the commercial concrete structures to the Mc Donalds from the West under the ambitious pressure to become one of the developed country with a 2-figure GDP in another decade. Considering the big picture of becoming the world’s super-power now we are introducing rapid transit system into our city to minimize the traffic and transportation issues and also to some extent environmental issues, though I have little amount of corroborative bits and pieces of evidence which I will share when they beef up enough to satisfy the (Indian) environmental norms given by the concerned authorities.

Speaking of Rapid transit system, I get abnormally excited! Obviously it is  due to the spring season’s first design project I am working on and its exciting! I observed numerous levels of work in progress at very different stages of construction behind the ‘Namma Metro’ banner erected at regular intervals (sometimes on the medians) on the arterial roads of the city. I am yet to find out how do they manage to get the work done amidst all the traffic chaos at different intervals of time in a day! Sooner or later I will find that out. After this ambitious project gets completed and the shiny new metro-rail witnesses a wavy green flag, truly it will only add a feather in the cap of the city’s well-known stature of grandeur and cosmopolitanism. I can’t wait to see the dawn of the day on which the metro-rail gets started, huffing and puffing, running across the city, stopping by the stunningly beautiful elevated stations for a minute or two and racing against time to reach the given destination with least amount of discomfort, trouble and vast amount of comfort and ease!

A bumble-bee flied high during the day, was not too ignorant as it often used to be, observing all the happenings in the neighborhood, sometimes stood in wonder and sometimes despised about the current state of affairs in the backyard, now while resting it reflects upon today’s experiences which it thought to itself as  an ‘over-whelming experience’.

An experience which pictures a better tomorrow at the cost of today’s disorder, again consoling itself to be optimistic by the old saying ‘no gain without pain’!

A better tomorrow 1

A better tomorrow 1

A better tomorrow 2

A better tomorrow 2

Aren’t they Gorgeous?!
